Après l'arrivée des 10 premiers à Matira, black out complet plus rien pas de résultats même à 16h plus rien. Dommage pour les milliers d'internautes qui restaient accrochés au site HNV. Par contre un super Bravo à Tauaririi et Gilles Tautu de RFO Tahiti. De vrais pros de la retransmission en directe et en haute mer de surcroit. Ils étaient suivi sur le site d'RFO jusqu'en allemagne où Jérome, Vice Président de la FIV faisait le relai sur les forums des sites spécialisés du Va'a dans le monde. Mauruuru jérome.

3è Etape C'est fait, une 3è Etape hors paire un combat de Titan entre le Team OPT et le Champion de Molokai 2009, Shell Va'a. Pendant toute la traversée et cela jusqu'à l'entrée de la passe TE AVA NUI de Bora Bora où le Team OPT précédait Shell Va'a de près de 500m pour finir vainqueur de cette dernière étape avec en plus le record de la traversée(4:07:01) et surtout la 1ère place au Général pour être le 18è Champion de Hawaiki Nui Va'a. Shell Va'a était même menacé par le Team OPT n°2. Derrière ces 3 champions un autre combat pour la 3è place du podium général se passait entre Matairea Hoe, EDT Va'a & Paddling connexion. Ce sera les champions de Huahine conduit par Manutea Owen qui montent sur cette dernière place du podium tant convoitée.
Un autre combat aussi entre le team de Air Tahiti et les enfants de l'île, Bora Bora Va'a, pour la 7è place. Air Tahiti se plaçant juste derrière Bora Va'a garde son avance au général d'1 point.
En résumé au Classement Général : 1er Team OPT(3pts) - 2è Shell Va'a(4pts) - 3è Matairea Hoe(13pts) - 4è EDT Va'a(14pts-meilleurs temps) - 5è Paddling Connexion(14pts) - Team OPT 2(19pts) - 7è Air tahiti(28pts) - 8è Bora Bora Va'a(29pts) - 9è Shell B(31pts) 10è Erai Va'a(33pts).
Team Hawaii 17è aujourd'hui se retrouve à la 14è place. Place qui ne reflète pas leur statut. Enfin une chose est sur est qu'il reviendront plus fort l'année prochaine peut être pour la future course Internationale le 12 Juin 2010, course qui est plus dans leur corde puisqu'elle est du même modèle que Molokai Hoe.

3è Etape Its done, high level lap, a Titan combat in between the OPT Team and Molokai Hoe Champ, Shell Va'a during the whole race until TE AVA NUI pass of Bora Bora where the OPT Team realy leading Shell Va'a for about 500yards and finish winner in Matira with also a record breaking (4:07:01) but most of all to be the 18th Hawaiki Nui Va'a Champ. Shell Va'a at a time was catching up by the 2nd team of OPT. Behind thos 3 champ another combat for the overall 3rd place was on in between Matairea Hoe, EDT Va'a & Paddling Connexion. Manutea Owen and his Huahine Boys of Matairea Hoe won the right to climb on the convoited podium.
Behind those another fight for the 7th place in between Air Tahiti & Bora's own, Bora Bora Va'a. Air Tahiti finished just behind(8) Bora Va'a(7) but in the overall stay in front(7th) of Bora's Team(8th).
To resume for the overall places we have : 1st Team OPT(3pts) - 2nd Shell Va'a(4pts) - 3rd Matairea Hoe(13pts) - 4 EDT Va'a(14pts-meilleurs temps) - 5 Paddling Connexion(14pts) - 6 Team OPT 2(19pts) - 7 Air tahiti(28pts) - 8 Bora Bora Va'a(29pts) - 9 Shell B(31pts) 10 Erai Va'a(33pts).
Team Hawaii 1eth today fall down at the 14th place. That standing does'nt shows its statut. Anyway they'll might come back stronger next year year in June 2010, the 12th for our International Race which is like Molokai Hoe type of race. November 05 Hawaiki Nui Va'a 2009 - Général Partiel - Top 20

1ère Etape très technique compte tenu d'une houle de travers venant du sud ouest. 3 caps différents pris par les grands prétendants : Shell Va'a, 4 fois vaiqueur de suite de Molokai Hoe, cap directe sur Uturoa, Team OPT son dauphin de toujours, cap du Sud et Matairea Va'a de Manutea Owen cap Nord, EDT & Padling Connection(3è à Molokai Hoe 2009), Team Hawaii ont pris le même cap que Shell Va'a. A ce jeux c'est le champion Shell qui a eu raison. Pour nos équipes d'Allemagne et du Brésil se fut dur surtout pour nos cousins d'Allemagne qui pour la 1ère fois rame sur l'Ocean ca habitué dans leurs lacs et rivières mais comme ils ont dit sur la plage de Raiatea "c'est une grande expérience, nous reviendront mieux préparé". Nos Carioca ont dansé la samba sur les vagues du chenal pour finir à leur niveau. Mauruuru pour leur présence.
1st Lap, very technical with a south west side swell. 3 different route took by top crews. Shell Va'a, 4 consecutive winner at Molokai Hoe, took the straight line to Raiatea, Team OPT took the south route, Matairea of Manutea Owen the North route. EDT, Padling Connection(3rd at Molokai Hoe) & Team Hawaii have followed Shell Va'a. At that game, the Champ Shell won the challenge. Our German and Brasil paddlers it was harder especialy for our German cousins used on lacs and river, this is their 1st race on open ocean, but as they said on the beach in raiatea "this is a great experince, we'll come back much more trained. Our Carioca have dansed the Samba on the Ocean to finish at their level. Mauruuru anyway for their participation.

2ème Etape Powerfull OPT dès le départ donné ont montré par la force de leur bras que sans cap ils étaient les + fort. Shell Va'a en grand Champion malgré un très mauvais départ au S entre raiatea et Tahaa ils n'étaient que 5è. Après avoir remonté tout le monde a pointé juste après Tapuamu à près de 100m du Team OPT. Ces derniers ne voulant pas lacher prise ont accélérer leur coup de rame pour terminer 1er avec à la clé un temps record de 1:52:49 contre 1:55:32 à Shell Va'a en 2001. Belle performance de OPT2 qui a tenu la 2è place jusqu'à Tapuamu pour la céder non sans combattre à Shell Va'a. Paddling Connexion ce petit club égal à lui même face aux ferari et McLaren de Shell et OPT gagne 1 place 5è hier, 4è aujourd'hui bravo les frangins. La contreperformance du jour est pour EDT Va'a 2è hier, 6è aujourd'hui reste cependant sur le podium (3è) à 1 pts de Padling(5) et Matairea Hoe(4). ces deux derniers avec 9pts chacun ne sont départagés que par le temps 42''. Nos copains de Air Tahiti pendant logtemps en 6è place ont eu un coup de fatigue pour ne finir qu'à la 13è place il ne perde qu'1 place au Général 8è aujourd'hui. Faatoito les frangins pour demain.
Et mon copain Tauhiti avec son Team Hititoa pas trop bon hier, enfoncé dans le ventre mou du pak(41) fait honneur aujourd'hui à son n° 25 puisqu'il arrive 26è une remonté au général qui doit faire du bien 33è. Encore un petit effort pour rentrer dans le très prisé Top 20.
Une autre contreperformance, celle de nos cousins Hawaiiens 6è hier, 18è aujourd'hui. Ils perdent du même coup 6 place au général pour finir à la 12è place.
2nd Lap Powerfull OPT from the start they took the lend up the end of the race they have shown that without chance of the route they are the strongest. Shell Va'a as great Champ, even though they had a very bad start come back from the 5th place, after a fight close by Tapuamu with OPT2, to the 2nd place. They even came close as 100yard from OPT1. The last named didn't want to let them come closer put some more power in their engine to win the race with a time record of 1:52:49 against 1:55:32 by Shell Va'a en 2001.
Good performance from OPT2 which have kept the 2nd place until Tapuamu not without a good fight to Shell Va'a. Paddling Connexion, a little club, equal to itself against ferari's and Mc Larens of Shell va'a and OPT gain 1place 5th yesterday 4th today; Bravo bruddah. Today's lost is EDT Va'a 2nd yesterday 6th today, anyway they still maintain them on the podium (3rd) with only 1 pt to Matairea Hoe(4th) & Paddling(5th). Those 2 with same points (9) are separate with only 42''. Our friends from Air tahiti longtime 6th got flat tire at the end to finish up 13th. Faatoito Bruddah for tomorow. What about fry Friend Tauhiti and his team Hititoa lost in the belly of the pak yesterday(41) today have honored its team number 25 by finishing 26 and a jump in the overall to the 33rd place. A little more power and you'll be in the very restricted Top 20.
An other big lost is from our Hawaiian Cousins. 6th yesterday have finished 18th today. They lost at the same time 6 places in the overall placing to be at the 12th place. July 31 IVF-ICF, FIV-FICLe Mardi 28 Juillet 2009 au siège de la Fédération Internationale de Canoe/Kayak (FIC) à Lausanne/Suisse, une réunion très importante a eue lieu entre MM. Jose PERURENA, Président de la FIC et Charles VILLIERME, Président de la FIV.Etaient présents MM. Simon TOULSON, Secrétaire Général de la FIC et Marcel VENOT, ancien Vice-Président de la FIV et conseiller Spéciale auprès du Président relatives aux relations avec la FIC.
Cette réunion très importante pour le devenir du Va'a et du Canoë à abouti sur la volonté de la signature très prochaine d'une convention de partenariat entre les 2 Fédérations Internationales.
Ce partenariat se fera sur un court, moyen et long term. Le court terme verra :
1) la mise en place de l'introduction du va'a aux JEUX PARALYMPICS DE 2016 et surtout
2) de l'interdiction d'utilisation de la dérive dans le championnats du monde Handi qui doivent se dérouler en Octobre prochain au Canada. Cette décision ouvrira la participation des personnes à mobilité réduite (unijambiste ou sans jambe).
3) la signature de la Convention de partenariat avant la fin de l'année 2009 Cette convention comprendra en autre :
a) le respect total de l'autonomie entre les 2 Fédérations Internationales de continuer leur développement dans tous les secteurs actuels;
b) l'officialisation du terme VA'A à tous les niveaux;
c) l'utiliation de la dérive est INTERDITE dans toutes les courses de vitesses.
Le Moyen et long terme sera consacré a consolider ce partenariat qui, on croise les doigts, aboutira sur la glisse d'un va'a aux Jeux Olympiques. Il sera question entre autre de promouvoir au sein de la FIC la promotion du Va'a aux Jeux du Commonwealth, Pan American, Oceania etc...

Tuesday July 28th, at the International Canoe Federation’s office in Lausanne Switzerland, a very important meeting has been held in between MM. Jose PERURENA, President of ICF and Charles VILLIERME, President of IVF. Was present MM. Simon TOULSON, ICF Secretary General and Marcel VENOT, IVF past Vice-President and special counsellor for the President concerning ICF dossiers. That important meeting for the future of the Va’a and Canoe has ended up on a resolution to sign as soon as possible a partnership convention in between the 2 Ifs. The partnership will rise up the short, middle and long term actions. The short Term will be for: 1) the setting of the introduction of the Va’a in the 2016 PARALYMPICS GAMES and most of all; 2) the rudder can’t be used in all flat water or sprint races especially during the ICF handy world sprint witch will be held in Canada this coming October. That decision will allow all adaptive (legless paddlers) to participate; 3) the signature of the Convention before the end of 2009 year. The convention will contain: a) the total respect of each IF’s autonomy in any aspects of their development plan ; b) the officialisation in any levels of the terme VA'A; c) the use of the rudder is FORBIDDEN in all sprint or flat water competitions. The middle and long term will be to solidified the partnership witch will, crossing fingers, end up on the glide of a VA’A in the Olympic Games. It is question of developing the Va'a in within ICF program during Commonwealth, Pan American, Asian Games, Oceania etc...
